The Dangam district of Kunar province is the mountainous district and the majority of its inhabitants are poor. Their homes were burnt during the fight in between armed groups in ………..a large numbers of People are internally displaced, but some of the people were still living in their half destroyed house while they had lost  all preliminary home goods and kitchen equipment. ANCC as one of the local NGO jumped in to the situation to support the people by providing food and non-food Items.

A 49 years old man, Mr. Abdullah residence of Takhtapul district, Kandahar province who had lost his son in road side bomb blast and his daughter in law has stayed widow while she had small children, he had no income source to nourish and protect his daughter in law and her small children and feed his own family as well.  He says ‘’my grandchildren and my family has nothing to eat for couple of days, at this hard time I heard that one of the local NGOs by name of ANCC work to provide job opportunity through one of WFP project which was rehabilitation of four irrigation canals and 6,920 cum gabion work”.

“It was a very good opportunity for us and the other 300 families like me in our district”.

Mr. Abdullah further explained that since I had been working with ANCC in canal cleaning project, I can support and have enough food for my families and children; I and my family including other needy people in our district are really appreciates ANCC intervention providing job through WFP projects.
