ANCC contributes via its activities in education sector to ensure qualitative and quantitative development across Afghanistan along with other three thematic areas, education is one of the important sector for ANCC program activities. ANCC is capable to work together with stakeholders in order to improve the education quality and ensure the better school facilities and enrollment in rural and urban areas.
Education formulates the bases of a country, improving education system will develop all other sectors, therefore ANCC will extend its efforts to provide better formal and non-formal education in very remote areas in the country.
ANCC will focus on increasing the literacy rate in the country through working with the ministry of education and other national and international donors and communities who are working in this sector.
The education programs and activities will aim to enable the people of Afghanistan to have quality education, decrease the illiteracy and to motivate, encourage and educate those children who have never been to school and live in remote areas.
20 years back when we were children we had one school for away from our villages with very low education facilities, now we are happy that our children going to school which is nearby to our communities, from other hand we are involved in the improvement of education quality through school shoras (councils) in our district, said Haji Abdul Basir 30 year old farmer and CDC member from Ahsarak CDC with code No. 21-2104-0081 district Purchaman, province Farah.

36 years old Mr. Abdul Samad the chairman of Qulfak CDC of Nahri-Sarraj district of Helmand province says” It was ANCC’s struggle to aware and motivate our people in order to send their children to school who never been to school”.
ANCC’s involvement in building boundary wall for the school enable our daughters to go to school without any fear, previously our school did not had surrounding wall therefore it was very difficult to decide to school our female children to school.
We all work together with government and other national and international organizations in order to reduce the illiteracy rate and ensue quality education for our children so that they could better contribute in the rehabilitation and development of Afghanistan in the future.
We are very happy that government of Afghanistan and international donor communities supporting us to solve our social problems
Today A Reader, Tomorrow A Leader
15000 primary students received books which enable them to read and have access to quality education.
1. Throughout community and district level dialogues, it was identified by residents of Kandahar province that their children which go to school, do not have books to learn. Due to unavailability and having no access to books, these children often faced with difficulties and their parents are also not able to provide them books in order to have access to quality education at all levels. Hereby, the advocacy committees brought this issues at a higher level and they discussed with the relevant department. Fortunately, they were able to advocate on behalf of their children and held various meetings with Directorate of Education (DoE) in order to provide books for the students. The director of education ensured his full support in the provision of books as soon as possible. Luckily, the DoE and ANCC head offices supported and provided 15000 volumes books for these students and it was distributed among students through directorate of education- Kandahar.
The advocacy effort made it, to provide books for the deprived student. Approximately, 15000 ( 8000 Female & 7000 male) students benefited from these books. The advocacy contributed to a long-term change in the society especially, in the education sector and for the students which are a good source to bring change to the community. During a period of 1 month, 15000 students benefited from the effort made by advocacy committees.
